Not in a million years would I thought that I would do a post on Soulja Boy. It's funny, I was trying to find a couple of adjectives to describe him, such as illiterate and so on, but I figured he wasn't after all. He's big enough and has enough "intelligence" to get himself where he is at. Enough props for that. Now to be honest...

Any who, after watch both of his campaign videos to go platinum in a week, it made me like him just a bit better. (Video 1 Video 2) Just because he would say stupid shit to entertain me. As I started to think, maybe he does have a chance to go platinum in a week. Error. Soon as I saw the release day I knew it was impossible. December 16th. Impossible I say! That's the exactly the same day that Kanye's 808 & Heartbreak Christmas Edition drops. I was planning on getting the CD this Tuesday when it drops, and I still am. But now I will be force to help the galactic spirit of good music fight terrible...not music. Which means I will both buy 808's & Heartbreak this Tuesday and on December 16th.

With that said you should also do the same to help the good 'ol boy Kanye out. I've backed him since '01 and I'm not going to stop now. A genius I say!

I've been in desperate need of inspiration. I'm walking dark alleys and bumping into troubled walls. I need a change, isn't that why I support my president? Frustration sinks into my deepest sentiments but I still find a light to be able to write like this. Amazing.

People used to tell me that life is a gamble but I never believed it. Yet I still found myself on a table betting my troubles and my weaknesses away, trying to believe. It's all been magic, not real. Making people focus to the right while I performed my "tricks" on the left. A real good magician I have became with my life.

Certainly this makes sense only to me, and if you relate be my guess. Once again I find myself writing personal emotions and reading my soul through this thick frame glasses. What is the music to my life? A mixture of sadness, soul, empty love, and deception. At least that what I take out of Marvin Gaye's "Trouble Man." soundtrack. I relate to the rhythms that speak to me more than words.

A very personal friend of mine asked me the question: "What is your favorite album of all time?" I never knew until 5 minutes ago. "Trouble Man." I've always enjoyed the music and at times connected with it but now, now I live with the music itself, once again I've fallen in love.

Rhythms speak more than words, personally I believe so.

Life is a beautiful struggle.

This is one of the few times that i will post my feelings away. More than likely is because my insecurities. Maintaining my patience and intelligence is getting difficult. Its becoming troublesome deciding what to do. Fuck batteling, maneging life is challenging.

Is it cheesy to say: girls, you can't live with them but you can't live without them or however that saying goes. Alternating two life's is to difficult, I'm already a master of deception and I don't want to emerge myself deeper into that filthy water.

May I add that this is more than likely only making sense to me. But I do need to write this, it's like a medicine to me. Or maybe it's worthless...I just had a breaking moment. Maybe I really shouldn't be stressing and complaining.

Kids are starving and are in middle of wars caused by people who practice gluttony and are the ones causing wars. I really shouldn't take anything for granted and should cherish the little things that I own that probably mean the world to some one else.

A Live Show At Its Finest

Just about 24 hours ago my good self was jumping to the sounds of Estelle, the Roots Crew, and Gym Class Heroes. The show was extraordinary and one of the best I've ever attended. Perhaps this would be my longest blog but yet the best, details are necessary.

Driven with the love I have for both of these bands I ended up showing up six hours early to eat at the HOB restaurant and get the pass the line especial. An hour into waiting it started to rain, I ended up under a pavilion next to the gates where the tour bus was. After standing for about 30 minutes I saw Dishashi walk out and I proceeded to say wussup to him. The rain started falling down harder.

After saluting Disashi I saw the Eric and Matt run fast into a car, so I couldn't say shit to them but what's cool is that Travis was the only one walking so I said wussup and he came by and gave me a handshake which was cool.

DeJesus! Cool ass dude, he came out and walked and we ended up talking for a good 10 minutes. Which he informed me that GCH went to a meet & greet. He's the hype man of the crew.

The wait was a bitch but it was all good after I got in and ended in the first row at the middle of the stage, the best seat in the house, to me at least. Funny thing is not a seat but rather spot because you actually have to stand. The opening act was Estelle, to keep it short, she was okay, the sound was a bit bad but her live personality made up for it. And the fact she pointed at me a couple of times and told me two step.

When the Roots came out I was fixing to get down and I did. Their set was full of soul and just an ill sound vibe. Black Thought ripped shit up like always and Questlove held his own two. But the dope things is that each of the members had a solo to demonstrate their talent and they did it well. Especially the dude with a the Tuba, just imagine that, dope.

Overall the set was profound and what I liked was that it capture the whole band and their talents not just the lead vocalist and how good he is. When they were done Questlove stood up put the his drumsticks in the air and threw them, I ended up catching one of them.

To wrap up the show was Gym Class Heroes, they fucking shook the place down. The whole band was live and hyped that made the whole place jump. Travis couldn't stay still for one minute which made it great and not boring. Also their interludes to their songs were dope. At the end I ended up grabbing the Set List from DeJesus and nothing else but another handshake from Travis.

The show was amazing and I recommend anyone to get their tickets and feel sorry for the ones who missed it. Estelle, the Legendary Roots Crew, and Gym Class Heroes. Astonishing.

Isn't dope when your nickname is Proof and you have proof to proof that your ill, and that's why they call you Proof. Deshaun Holton was born two days ago on the second of October. Originally I did not plan on doing a tribute on the blog since I always pay my dues privately. But I decided to write a short note reciting the love and admiration that I have for Proof when I heard a dedication Royce Da 5'9 did.

Till this day I sit and remember when I first woke up to find out that Proof died, in shock I didn't believe. After hitting up a few sources this nightmare was true and it hit me in my heart. As a hip-hop head I shared the passion that Proof had for hip-hop and admire the Detroit scene he helped ran.

Searching the net I founded a new track from Royce Da 5'9 dedicated to Proof on his born day. After hearing it, it got me soft and mushy but it made me realize to celebrate your love ones born day instead of reminiscing in their dead day.

That's one of the many definitions of soul, which to me is the most important part an artist needs to portray. It's indescribable when an artist possesses that skill, it makes me relate to them more and i enjoy the music ten times better.

It's been a good year and I have heard alotta albums and a handful have left me impressed;

This past June I missed a flawless album and I'm upset at my self for it but happy that I finally had a chance to catch up with it. This impeccable album is Dwele's "Sketches of A Man." I cannot express how much this album has me going. It's worthless to keep on bragging about it but rather important to just let you know to go buy it and listen for yourself!

I have forgotten the love I have for Dilla's music. The passion I shared when I heard my first Dilla track without even knowing it. I would bump some ATCQ and would ask my self: who in the hell makes this beats? Looking in the credits production to only read: The Ummah. I always would wonder.

I'm not certain nor do I remember when the essence of Jay Dee build upon me but I recall hearing Busta Rhyme's "Can't Hold the Torch" and finding out of some guy name J-Dilla produced it. I digged deep in to the Internets layers and was virtually introduced to the genius. That was when I truly fell in love with music. Not hip-hop but music overall.

Jay Dee showed me how to love music. How to not be gender racist with music. I would stay late nights and listen to the genius then would desperately find the sample and be amazed with the pure chops. Jay Dee made gold into...something much greater, more complex, more soulful. Then later I rushed to the the store and bought his whole catalog. Donuts still fucks with my head when I hear it.

To this day I sit and wonder if he was still alive...it's more than music to me. It's a passion, a way of life, it's pure love. Rest in Beats.

P.S.- I love my (ex)girl for giving me the Donuts Vinyl on our anniversary. I say, the dopest gift I've ever received.

Is the end of the month where I know the most birthdays, but today is the greatest of all. The ending finale, my birthday. It's been a good 16 and running. Alotta things that have molded me into the person I am today and it's even better to know that that mold doesn't stay in one shape. It keeps changing through every experience.

Sneaker Culture.

I love it so much but I'm getting tired of all these people rocking dunks and sb's for no reason. Respect the history and have passion for the art of it. I mean really since when have all these people loved sneakers so damn much. I love seeing people following the art but people rock it with your heart not looks. It looks stupid, I can spot you when your trying too hard.

Fuck the summer, it's school season. Take your pencils out and sharpen them. Anyways, this is not defining the topic of tonight's lesson. The topic of this post is the Olympics. I haven't been so proud of being an American. Actually I'm not American but rather Colombian, but I live in an American society and interact with Americans and live part of their culture, which makes me and you American.

Besides that, I've only been interested on the Olympics just because of the basketball and track and field (if that's what is called.) Knowing the USA basketball team as a whole separates me from the fact that I don't have a clue who the track people are. Which excites me when i see them run so damn fast. It's unbelievable what the human body can be trained for.

But what really inspires and leaves my brain confuse is the capability of what the great Michael Phelps is achieving. This man is doing what no one could ever do and making it better by breaking a record in each competition he is in. I really do hope he will take all the gold for the remaining competitions and break the record in each one of them.

Michael Phelps is the reason I get so hyped to get my fat ass in the pool and swim two laps. So my respect is due for this man. Now let's get 'em.

Two great minds gone in less in a week, what a shame. People are dying like flies these days. At first I was a bit upset over Bernie Mac's death, since he brought many smiles and laughter into my life. Besides that he was a genius in the form of comedy. My respect goes to Bernie and condolences to his family.

Now, this was shocking and sad to hear but time was due for the great Isaac Hayes. That hurt my soul right there, I'm not even frontin, me being a young cat and all. But damn i would bump his joints and let my problems sooth out. This man was so funky but yet jazzy. So to pay my respect I share with you my favorite record from Black Moses. One of the most memorable days of my life occurred yesterday. Let me summarize the story backwards, me and my two peeps end it up meeting Immortal Technique and his entourage. But the dopest thing is that we actually chilled and conversed for a good 45 min.

The fact that i texted every person that i know with a car to find a ride but no one was up for it till the last second, a good buddy of mine agreed to take us. Thats what makes this moment memorable. It felt like it wasn't suppose to be but it was at the end.

Don't fucking question me either, this is a true story.

It's so amazing that this human being running for president is talking about world unity with these people.

"The Dark Knight" is the best movie of 2008 and it is worthless to give a review with so many emotions to write. The best thing i can say is just to go watch it. Now I got introduced to this man like most people have. Two words of pure honesty and realness: KanYe West. Now this blog is not about him but about Malik Yusef. I been following dude since i heard him on the song "Wouldn't You Like To Ride." I did some digging on Malik's catalog and it's oh so pure. I haven't felt poetry like this since...honestly, never have I.

I keep my ear out for spoken word artist or just poets in particular. One of the top dudes that I've ever heard would be Shihan (check him out.) But this Malik Yusef deserves his own lane. It's important to understand that Malik's comparison to everyday life are genius. Like on every post I have my back bone to support my opinion, in this specific case, here's a poem by Malik.

I actually came late on reporting it but it's better having late posts than bullshit posts. Now with respect I must ask you to stop what your doing and listen to this masterpiece and realize what he's talking about. I hope you understand.

I Am A Hip-Hop Head.

I love backpack hipster hip-hop but I sometimes i get fed up. I know Hip-Hop, I breath Hip-Hop, I eat Hip-Hop, I make Hip-Hop, and I am Hip-Hop. But at certain times im feed up with these other Hip-Hoppers when they see Lil' Wayne, Young Jeezy, T.I., or Killer Mike on my music libary and claim I ain't Hip-Hop. Let me tell you the south is Hip-Hop and we shouldn't catagorize or blame the south for the way Hip-Hop is. (Fuck Soulja Boy)

Do any of ya'll remember the birth of Hip-Hop? I sure don't because my parents hadn't meet but I know Hip-Hop was born out of celebration in order to surpass oppression by the supremecy. We can all agree that in a celebration there is music and that music must be party music. Because i certainly do not want to dance to Jay Electronica and do the perculator. But anyway, the point is what's the difference with songs like Digital Underground's "Humpty Dance" to songs like Lil' Waynes "Lollipop"? There is none. That's just party music. Because certainly know that Humpty Dumpty isn't on some revolutionary lets get free lyrics, just like "Lollipop."

Party music is only a appropiate for parties and thats when i only listen to it. Being a Dj i have to have party music in order to shake down the party but please believe that i put some real Hip-Hop to shake the party down. (ATCQ's "Find A Way") But you have to understand I know Hip-Hop and I play Hip-Hop. So let's not be mad at people like Lil' Wayne or KanYe West.

You already know what the next word is gonna be. I'm back party people even though I wasn't really never gone. Stress took over my mind and didn't allow me to blog or have any creative or artistic ideas in order to inspire my life. I came up with a conclusion. You control your life no one else.

It's a shame how so possessive humans have become, each day we want but don't need. I'm not here to preach but please don't get it wrong, I will speak knowledge like droppings books. And on my first post i will post the first and most important line relating to life.
